Description: The project was to design a new mall over the existing suburban railway station in Piraeus. The mall has a 9m. elevation difference to the station, so as to keep it operational. The entire structure is to be from steel and glass. Our design proposal illustrates a ship “floating in the air” with a total length of 230m. and a height of 35m. The mall areas include retail shops, cafeterias, restaurants, multiplex cinemas, offices, an open air pool etc. The structure of the mall is connected, through a bridge, to a 10 storey car park. This unique form of the edifice aims to give to the Piraeus Metro Station Mall the characteristics of a landmark.
